Nokia’s latest musicphone propose touch on a budget

Nokia rebranded its Comes with Music subscription service under its spreading Ovi brand, as Ovi Music Unlimited (there is also a pay-per-track option, Ovi Music Store). Now it plans to release a range of new phones optimized for its music services, mindful of criticisms that a weakness of the original Comes with Music was a limited choice of handsets. First off the starting block is a midrange model, the Nokia 5250, which provides some smartphone capabilities but at low cost. The 5250 is likely to be a replacement for the 5230 and will be one of Nokia’s truly international handsets, launching across the world.

It’s Specifications:

1. It has a 2.8-inch touchscreen and runs Symbian Series 60 5th Edition

2. A heavyweight operating system for such an affordable product

3. A camera of only 2-megapixels and the lack of 3G – betray its featurephone roots.

4. Screen resolution is 640 x 360 and the leaked pictures indicate it has quite a square shape

5. The higher end music phone X6 – rather than the original Comes with Music flagship, the 5800 or Tube, or even the 5230. These offerings had narrower bezels and were curvier in design.

Other features include 512Mb of internal memory, and up to 16 GB extra via microSD. On the music front, as well as support for Ovi Music Unlimited and a preloaded app for this, FM radio is included, and the handset comes bundled with a copy of Guitar Hero 5 Mobile. Other apps that come preloaded are Ovi Mail, as well as social media sites Twitter and Facebook.
