The HTC 7 Pro is the most significant launch for the Windows Phone 7 platform so far in 2011. It is available for around £430 SIM-free, or comes completely free on a £30-per-month contract.
It might not be quite as quick as using a touchscreen phone with Swype installed, but it's certainly much faster than using a standard virtual keyboard. With a 3.6-inch capacitive touchscreen has a 4.3-inch HD7.
With a 5-megapixel resolution, it's a class below the 8-megapixel variant seen on the Mozart, although the presence of 720p video recording will please future ruling with a limited 8GB of internal storage. With the Pro, HTC has been without the opportunity to wrap the menus in real-time widgets and shiny animations.
Conclusion
This phone has a great keyboard, and may plea to those who haven't used a smartphone before. But we can't see Android or iPhone cutomers in hurry to deliver Windows Phone 7 on the strength of this handset.
